Hyssop 'Blues'

planting site / location:
planting distance:
25 x 30 cm
soil / fertilisation:
Grows best in sunny locations with permeable, not too moist, calcareous soil
Keep it moisturised.
gardener's tip:
Some extra azote after the first pruning fosters the growth of the plant. When hyssops bloom, they become a wonderful place for bees. In rough locations hyssop needs winter protection or it will freeze to death.
A versatile spice and medicinal plant. Especially suitable for teas, salads and junkets. The young leaves and growing tips of the stolons can be harvested continuously. The main harvest begins only shortly before or simultaneously with the flowering. Good weather conditions provided, a second harvest can be possible in autumn.
