Rather a modest plant. To be yielded regularly. Winter protection is required in open air. Prefers a bright and cool location inside the house during overwintering.
The silver sage 'Culinaria' has very large, appealing and silvery shining leaves. It is a perfect companion for decorative mixed beds. In the Italian cuisine the leaves are often fried. Has an antiperspirant effect and as tea it helps against a sore throat when gargled.
