gardener's tip:
Harvest maturity: Harvest the artichoke flower heads before they turn blue and flourish, otherwise they will be bitter. It is time to harvest, when the outer bud scales begin to spread slightly, but inner scales are still tight. Cut off the flower heads about 5 cm below the bud.
In the first year already, the artichoke 'Imperial Star' F1 forms a very early variety of very large buds, ready to be harvested. A culinary enrichment for the cuisine. In autumn it grows a very decorative, bright purple flower. Also suited for our climate due to the annual cultivation.
