Ingredients for approx. 2l syrup:

50 g white peppermint 'Swiss'
1 kg sugar
1 l water
2 organic lemons
1 tbs. citric acid
8 cm ginger tuber
1 small chilli red
1 pinch of salt


Volmary's HOT PEPPERMINT - a delicious syrup made of white peppermint 'Swiss', ginger and chilli.

Filled up with cold sparkling water or enjoyed as tea with hot water, it's always a fresh and warming treat! Especially delicious in cocktails or long drinks.

Bring sugar, water and a pinch of salt to boil in a large saucepan and simmer while stirring for 5 minutes until the sugar has dissolved and the syrup is slightly thick.

Wash and dab dry the white peppermint 'Swiss'. Wash the lemon and cut into slices. Peel the ginger and also cut it into slices. Add all ingredients to the hot syrup and stir.

Important: Covered with lid, it should stand for 24 hours.

Rinse two 1-liter bottles with hot water. Core the chilli pepper, cut into rings and put it into the bottles.

Pour the syrup through a sieve and boil it up again.

Fill the bottles up with the syrup and seal them.

Tip: If kept at cool and dark places, this syrup is good for several months.
